Job Description:   The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional nurse accountable for age appropriate patient assessment, care planning, patient care and monitoring of patient outcomes to care. The RN must be competent to implement all phases of the nursing process. The Staff RN will demonstrate safe and competent nursing care, reflective of the philosophy and standards of Gritman Medical Center, following the guidelines and rules set forth by ASPAN, the Idaho State Board of Nursing, American Nurses' Association and the Joint Commission. The Staff RN will demonstrate a code of conduct reflective of a professional health care provider and will act as a role model for other professional and non-professional staff. Gritman Medical Center's mission, vision and values will be demonstrated in the daily practice of the Staff RN.   Under the direction of the Director of Surgery performs tasks as they relate to the care of the patient in the PACU, Post Anesthesia Care Unit setting. Demonstrated knowledge of nursing process as it relates to the care of the PACU patient throughout the phases of recovery, (Phase I, Phase II, Phase III). May be involved with care/service to patients over the continuum of the life span.

Performs inpatient/outpatient/clinic/contract registration functions in accordance to hospital and department policy and quality standards.
