Maintains hospital facilities in a clean and orderly condition to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Follows directions, work schedules, procedures, methods and instructions with regards to the use of specific materials and equipment. Responsible for maintaining floors to include carpet, tile, & sheet flooring maintenance, shampooing, bonneting, waxing, and stripping to the highest level of cleanliness/appearance. Assist in meeting room set-ups, deep cleaning of all areas as instructed (which includes terminal cleaning of patient areas/rooms). Will ensure all exit doors are secure during night and unlocked for morning business. Other duties as assigned. Exhibits good judgment to self supervise, at times, to complete assignments. Equipment maintenance.
The ability to read and understand product labeling and comprehend mixing measurements of chemicals. Ability to understand specific verbal or written instructions and procedures. Experience in utilizing floor care machines to include buffers, scrubbers, shampooers, and steam cleaners. Prefer previous knowledge of hospital cleaning techniques.
Must have a valid Driver's License. (May operate GMC Vehicle).

• Meet with supervisor at changeover at the beginning of shift.
• Use Autoscrubber to clean corridors.
• Clean Café nightly.
• Complete floor projects as assigned.
• Assist in the planning of floor projects.
• Complete setups in meeting rooms (Before 8am)
• Unlock doors at 5am.
All patient and public areas of Gritman Medical Center on and off campus.
Lifting &/or carry: Maximum of 50 lbs. knee to shoulder. Items Lifted - Liquid containers, trash/linen bags, equipment.
Push/Pull: Heavy force required to move furniture such as desks, couches, file cabinets and beds. Moderate force for vacuums, mopping, buffers, laundry bins, etc.
Manual Dexterity: High degree required to manipulate/maneuver and operate electrically operated high speed equipment. Frequent standing, kneeling, stooping and other movements.
Driving – To and from jobs in out-buildings.

Inside with occasional outside work. Seasonal, work/census driven shift changes to accomplish projects and accommodate needs of Gritman Medical Center.
