  • Overview

    Position Summary:

    Under administrative direction, directs the financial and business activities coincidental with defined hospital policies and procedures. Supervises: Patient Accounting, Fiscal Services, Health Information Management, Engineering, Dietary, Environmental Services, Clinical Nutrition, Diabetes Care, Materials Management and Admitting.

     

    Qualifications

    Qualifications, Education, Training, & Experience:

    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and verbal, interpersonal and quantitative skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Knowledge of financial management and analysis principles and techniques and managerial skills typically acquired through two to three years of experience in public accounting, specifically in health care auditing (when applied to small hospitals) or up to four to six additional years experience as a hospital controller (when applied to larger hospitals). Additional experience in Hospital leadership, strategic planning, and development preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    Lifting: Occasional-maximum of 5-10 lbs. from floor to waist height, 5-10 x per day. Frequent-None. Items lifted-briefcase, papers, etc.

    Carry: 5-10 lb. briefcase 300+ yards 2-3 x per day

    Fine Motor: High degree required for computer and writing tasks

    Computer: 50% of each day performing mouse and data entry tasks equally.

    Standing: Up to 30 minutes at one time and 3 hours per day

    Sitting: Up to 1 hour at one time and 7 hours per day

    Driving: Up to 90 minutes at one time and 3 hours per day

    Climbing: None

     

    Environmental Conditions:

    Location: Inside. Occasional exposure to noise from hallway traffic, computers, and telephones. Minimal exposure to bio-hazardous materials.
