  • Overview

    Assists the Wellness Coordinator in running a safe, clean and productive facility.


    Duties will include: Teaching a variety of aquatic and land classes to participants with a wide range of fitness abilities and must be able to adapt classes to fit a multitude of fitness levels.


    The Exercise Specialist will be responsible for testing chemical levels in the pool and spa and making adjustments to maintain proper balance and documentation of pool and spa chemical levels.


    Exercise Specialist will also be responsible for registering and billing all Wellness Center users and updating Monthly Use Reports.


    Clear communication with the Clinical Coordinator is a must.


    Additional responsibilities will include excellent customer relations, opening and closing the facilities as needed, and occasional cleaning.


    Hours will primarily consist of week-days and evenings. Some Saturday hours may be required.


    Minimum Education
    BS in Exercise Physiology or similar field of study preferred but not required.
    Minimum Work Experience
    Experience teaching aquatic or land exercise classes preferred.
    Minimum Education
    Must have or working towards the following certifications. Any certifications should be kept current while employed. Where appropriate, GMC will compensate for continuing education.
    • Adult, child, infant CPR for Health Care Providers and First Aid (required)
    • Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification (preferred)
    • Aquatic Exercise Instructor certification (preferred)
    • Personal Trainer certification (preferred)

    Maintains compliance with organization’s policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.

    Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential information.

    Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in The Gritman Way.
