Provide care and educational programs with children ages 0-8 and Alliance developmental disability program participants. Assist with general operations of the child care program. Attend to children’s basic needs, assist in implementation of activities that stimulate the children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth. Assist children to explore their interest, develop skills and independence, build self-esteem, and learn how to get along with others. Assist in maintaining attractive, healthy surroundings, and ensure that classroom, equipment and materials are kept in good condition and free of safety hazards. Assist in the service of meals and/or snacks to children, assist in associated set-up and clean up activities. Assist with classroom activities, child care and preparation of materials as assigned. Communicate effectively with Lead Instructors and Care Providers, parents, and staff, record data for children as needed. Participate in staff meetings, in service training and professional development opportunities. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, Training, & Experience: Preferred: study in Early Childhood, Special Education, Human Development or related field. Effective communication with children and adults; experience working with children.
License/Registration: City of Moscow Child Care Provider components (Sec 10-7 of Business regulations). CPR and First Aide training with 30 days of hire. Four (4) min. hours of education in early childhood education and development (within 30 days of hire).
Population Served: Infants through age 8,
Physical Demands: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, drop to one knee and get back up and safely holding a child, with the ability to carry and lift up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Light housekeeping as needed; cleaning of toys and equipment. Food preparation including cutting and cooking. Changing diapers and assisting children with toileting needs.
Environmental Conditions: Usually inside with daily outside recreational activities with children. Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials.
