This positioin is 3/4-Time, Benefited, Non-Exempt

 

Shifts: Days, 10am-4pm, Shifts may be extended upon needs

 

Insurance verification and preauthorization and maintains patient records. The Assistant ensures that the appropriate information is available prior to a sleep study. The Assistant will communicate with physicians, medical records and all other departments as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
High school graduate, or GED.

Population Served
Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
 
Physical Demands
Lifting: Occasional-Maximum of 20 lbs. from floor to waist height, 3 x day. Frequent-None. 
Carry: Up to 5 lbs, 300+ ft 10 X day 
Fine Motor: High degree required for computer use 
Computer: Up to 6 hours per day on average 
Standing: Up to 1 hours at one time and 3 hours in one day 
Sitting: Up to 1 hour at one time and6 hours in one day 
Kneeling: Up to 1 minute at one time and 15 minutes in one day 
Crawling: None 
Stooping: Up to 1 minutes at one time and 15 minutes in one day 
Driving: None
 
Environmental Conditions
Location: Inside. Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne disease when dealing with dirty patient equipment
 
Schedule sleep studies, pulmonary function test and smoke cessation classes.
Verify insurance and make sure pre-authorizations are done. Give patients estimates of out of pocket expenses. .
 
Schedule EEG.
 
Prepare rooms after sleep studies. Work with linen company to arrange pickup and delivery
 
Create sleep study charts and close them out when finished

Assist with Sleep lab accreditationo
Prepare sleep lab documentation and policies and procedures. 
Download information and fill out and send back to AASM.
 
Billing compliance
Make sure all billable procedure's have been billed
